Hydraulic Study: Barnegat Inlet, New Jersey
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: Philadelphia District
Ocean Surveys completed a series of cross-inlet current velocity transects throughout a 25-hour spring tidal cycle along with in-situ wave, current, and water level measurements both inside and outside of the inlet over a period of 30 days to document conditions over a lunar cycle.
The instrument moorings were configured to record significant wave height, peak period, peak wave direction, current magnitude and direction, and precision water levels. The data collected during the in situ deployments and the 25-hour survey were used for calibration and verification of numerical hydraulic models of Barnegat Inlet.
