Currents, water elevation, and water temperatures in the harbor were first documented, then a series of synoptic thermal mapping investigations were undertaken. Additionally, meteorological data were collected for the study period.
The second water circulation survey was done to support evaluation of the environmental dilution of chlorine discharged from the plant’s cooling water system. This was accomplished by doing a water mass dye tracer study and by mapping the water velocity in the area adjacent to the discharge over a full tidal cycle.
